Want To Share Your Expertise? Become An ACSM-CEPA Webinar Presenter!

by

An ACSM affiliate, CEPA (the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association) is seeking qualified speakers on a variety of topics to become a "webinar" faculty member. Consistent with CEPA objectives, the Continuing Education Committee seeks to advance scientific and practical knowledge of ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologists providing high-quality, educational programming, which fosters and promotes the interchange of ideas among members.

What Can You Present About?

Webinar topics should focus on your expertise in working with patients or clientele with diverse diseases and conditions that are frequently encountered by clinical exercise physiologists, such as Parkinson's, cancer, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, or other conditions.

Two recent webinars have included specific topics such as:

  • Exercise and Bariatric Surgery: Exercise Prescription and Special Considerations for the Bariatric Patient
  • Exercise Program Considerations for Cardiac Rehab Patients with Co-morbid Chronic Low Back Pain

See the complete list of past webinar topics here.

Why Should You Become CEPA Webinar Faculty?

Besides compensating presenters $100 per accepted and completed webinar, CEPA webinars also offer professional benefits. Participating as a webinar speaker allows certified professionals to broaden their professional network, as well as build relationships with other clinical exercise physiologists currently active in the field.

Additionally, presenting on a topic of your choice can be a great way to draw attention to new, novel, or creative practices. If you're preparing for a major conference or lecture, a CEPA webinar can serve as great practice for future conferences or presentations.

What Are The Requirements For Presenters & Presentations?

Presentations must be in PowerPoint (or other slideshow/presentation software-you must be able to share your original file), and be at least 45 minutes in duration. In order to promote dialogue, your presentation must be followed by a question and answer session.

Speakers should have considerable expertise on their topic, as well as some patient and/or clientele experience to share with the audience. In the past, professionals at different levels, including BS, MS, and PhDs, have all presented high-level webinars.

Ready To Submit? Here's How!

Are you ready to build your professional resume while discussing your expert knowledge of critical areas of patient and client care with other invested professionals? Contact CEPA's Continuing Education Committee, and submit your idea for consideration today.
