ACSM requires all certified professionals to earn a specific amount of continuing education credits (CECs) during their certification/registry cycle; the needed CECs and CEUs (continuing education units) vary by level. ACSM only recognizes workshops or conferences that have been approved for continuing education credits (CEC), whether offered by ACSM or another organization. Although each has a different contact hour requirement, most CECs require one contact hour of professional activity for one credit. The following are examples of available opportunities to earn CECs.
ACSM conducts numerous conferences and meetings annually throughout the country.
The Online Learning Platform allows continuing learners to access CEC opportunities 24/7.
Online webinars are available, and cover more than half of the ACSM certified areas.
