NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program opens January 2024
The National Institute of Health (NIH) will open applications for the Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) dedicated to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral and social science health-related research. Scholarships range up to $20,000 per academic year to cover tuition, educational expenses and reasonable living costs. For every year of scholarship funding, students commit to two NIH service obligations, which provide research training and experience at the NIH. ILSI annual meeting to be held Jan. 21-24 in Clearwater, FL
The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) will host its 2024 annual meeting featuring researchers and experts on food technologies and innovations focusing on safe, nutritious and sustainable food systems Jan. 21-24, 2024. Presentations will include topics such as nutrition for healthy aging, utilizing artificial intelligence to improve food systems and sustainable food practices. 2023 Bloomberg American Health Summit available for viewing
The John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health convened public health practitioners, policymakers, community organizations and Bloomberg fellows in Baltimore to explore connections and partnerships to advance health and equity across the country. Sessions covered strategies for preventing overdose deaths, ways to improve the U.S. food system, solutions to improve the youth criminal justice system and public health approaches to violence prevention.
